Blockchain Vocational Programs

Blockchain Training Alliance's certification programs

Several groups have set themselves up as official-sounding blockchain certification programs for developers. Few of them provide any details about their backgrounds or who runs the organizations. Do your homework before spending your money.

Blockchain Training Alliance

One of the more credible organizations is the Blockchain Training Alliance (BTA). It has formal partnerships with Pearson VUE, an IT certification testing provider with more than 5,600 locations around the world. You will find several blockchain certification programs on the BTA site, including the Blockchain Solution Architect.

Blockchain Solution Architect

The certification demonstrates knowledge and skills in developing blockchain-based solutions. Topics on the test range from testing and deployment practices to Byzantine Fault Tolerance to the differences between private, public and permissioned blockchains.

BTA staff teach the courses.

  • Architect blockchain solutions.
  • Work effectively with blockchain engineers and technical leaders.
  • Choose appropriate blockchain systems for various use cases.

Other blockchain vocational companies

There are many “councils” and “associations” popping up that offer blockchain training and certification. Usually, their websites say little about who runs the organizations, how they developed their courses, or what expertise they bring to the table. These groups could be perfectly legitimate vocational education providers. Or not.
